Jason Hayes has a passion for innovative Bible teaching and connecting today’s generation to God and His church. Jason combines sound Biblical depth, personal insight, and humor to make his message appealing and effective. This combination allows Jason to not only reach those outside the church, but also to strengthen the body of Christ within the church.
Jason is also the Young Adult Ministry Specialist at LifeWay Christian Resources. In this position, he serves as a voice and face for Threads, LifeWay’s young adult (18-34) initiative. Threads equips and encourages churches to reach a generation of people who are largely outside the church by providing Biblical resources, ministry training, and enrichment events. Jason’s primary role for Threads is to serve as a speaker, church consultant, and writer.
With a broad vision, Jason has ministered in North America, Africa, Asia, and Europe. He has worked with organizations such as the North American Mission Board and the International Mission Board. He was also honored to have served as a lead pastor for the Annual Meeting of the Southeast Asia Region Missionaries in Thailand. Jason has spoken at churches, conferences, training events, camps, retreats, university chapels, school assemblies, and various other venues around the country.
Holding a Masters of Divinity from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Jason’s love for ministry expands into many realms of academia and post-modern culture. Before seminary, Jason matured in his calling while attending the University of Tennessee where he earned a degree in Speech Communication.
Prior to coming to LifeWay, Jason served at Long Hollow Baptist Church in north Nashville. Jason’s responsibilities included teaching, the development of spiritual growth strategies, and pastoral care. In addition, Jason led in the design of creative environments and in the worship planning process. Although now serving with Threads, Jason is still is an active member at Long Hollow.
Before moving to Nashville, Jason served as the Minister to Students at First Baptist Concord in Knoxville, Tennessee. He also gained early valuable ministry experience through positions at Second Baptist Church, Griffin, GA and Youth Ministry Resources, Inc. YMR (Big Stuf Camps), hosts thousands of students each year for dynamic, first class camps and events.
Jason is happily married to his beautiful wife, Carrie, and is a proud dad to their son, Hayden. After teaching Architecture and Interior Design at the University of Tennessee, Carrie now commits her time to being a mom and partnering with Jason in ministry. They enjoy traveling together and hanging out with friends and family. Jason’s hobbies include reading, exercising, spending as much time at the beach as possible, and most sports.
