Bio
John Ortberg has been the senior pastor to over 4,000 members at Menlo Park Presbyterian Church in Menlo Park, California, since 2003. He is a graduate of Fuller Theological Seminary, and has a Master of Divinity and PhD in Clinical Psychology. He is best known for his award-winning books on Christian living released through Zondervan Publishing, including When the Game is Over, It all Goes Back in the Box; If You Want to Walk on Water, Then You’ve Got to get Out of the Boat; The Life You’ve Always Wanted, among others.
John formerly served as a teaching pastor at megachurch Willow Creek Community Church in Barrington, Illinois, from 1994 to 2003. His wife Nancy is also a seminary graduate and served as a teaching pastor at Willow Creek Community Church.
John and wife, Nancy, have been married for over 25 years and are the parents of three children, Laura, Mallory and John. They also have a dog and a cat, though they are ambivalent about the cat.
