SpecialtySarah has combined her twin passions of youth ministy and literature to speak to youth, their leaders, and parents; focusing on the power of stories and the role of imagination in spiritual formation. BIOSarah Arthur is the best-selling author of Walking With Frodo (Tyndale/Thirsty Books 2003) and Walking Through the Wardrobe: A Devotional Quest into The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (2005). From childhood, Sarah’s imagination and intellect were shaped by the writings of C.S. Lewis and other great Christian storytellers. After graduating from Wheaton in 1995 with majors in literature and Christian education, she served for seven years as a full-time youth director and began occasionally writing youth curriculum for Cokesbury. Then came her leap of faith. In 2003 she sensed God’s call to jump head-first into the publishing world, combining her twin passions of literature and youth ministry in the surprise success entitled Walking with Frodo, a devotional based on The Lord of the Rings. Since then, her focus has been on ministering to the imaginations of young people through exploring spiritual themes in great stories and film. Her other books include Walking with Bilbo: A Devotional Adventure through The Hobbit, winner of a 2005 Logos Book Award; and Dating Mr. Darcy, a guide to romance inspired by Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice (all published by Tyndale). When not writing and speaking to postmoderns about the adventure of walking by faith, Sarah helps organize the Northern Michigan C.S. Lewis Festival held annually in the fall. She and her husband Tom recently moved to Durham, North Carolina. Performer: Sarah Arthur Travels from: Charlotte, NC Performance Fee: Call for quote Travel Requirements: Airfare & Hotel for (1)
