In 1997, after ten years in cardiac nursing, Terry Squires hung up her stethoscope to focus on her three young sons at home. In doing so, her boys led her to create and write contemporary books and gift products for the youth. This opened a new door for her into the world of publishing.  

In January 1998, her son brought home X-Men trading cards. Concerned about the content, Terry had an idea. She created and published the Ancient Heroes series, which included the Ancient Heroes trading cards, coloring and comic books and the Ancient Heroes Devotional Bible. She was the first person to create high-end comic style, high gloss, foil wrapped trading cards about heroes of the Bible. Within eight weeks, 80,000 packs of the Ancient Heroes cards were sold.

In June 2000, Thomas Nelson Publishers released her contemporary new series, TodaysGirls.com. Within a few months after releasing the books, Stranger Online, Portrait of Lies and Tangled Web hit the CBA bestseller list with Stranger Online ranking in the number one position. What makes the TodaysGirls series unique are the fun storylines that are connected to the character’s private website created in the books. In the stories, the TodaysGirls website is the character’s safe haven where they discuss the happenings of their daily life. In reality, the website is open to all TodaysGirls fans worldwide. Currently, the website has received over 9 million visits from girls worldwide.  

Other releases include, Experience Him, Share Him, co-authored with Mike Ross, Focus on the Family, nominated for the 2003 Gold Medallion Award, I Believe, and This Is Who I Am, and Terry’s unique story-book Bible for little ones, ages 3-5 called, Bible Stories for Bedtime. These bible stories are read to children as if God was talking to them. This keepsake book also contains journaling spaces after each story for parents to record their child’s initial thoughts.

A mother of three sons, Terry still finds time to host the TodaysGirls Only Live radio program, co-host TeenAware Live, writes weekly columns for the www.todaysgirlsonly.com website and has sold nearly 400,000 books. Her future plans are to continue developing exciting books, magazines and youth programs.
